Project Three Thirty is more than a building project — it’s a movement to invest in the future of Scottsville. Tasked with developing a capital campaign to raise funds for a new community center, our work focused on crafting a brand and message that would resonate deeply with local citizens, donors, and partners alike.
Challenge:
The goal was ambitious: rally a small, rural community to fund the construction of a brand new community center designed to meet urgent needs — from youth engagement to leadership development to broader community programs. We needed to create a campaign that balanced urgency, hope, and ownership, making residents feel like stakeholders in a shared future.
Our Approach:
- Naming & Identity: We developed the name “Project Three Thirty” as a symbolic reference to the 3 years of intense fundraising for a 30 year reward. This name became the heart of the project’s storytelling, allowing anyone sharing about the project to explain the concept.
- Messaging Framework: We focused the narrative on the idea that this project wasn’t about a building — it was about creating space for community growth, empowerment, and generational impact, and most importantly, ownership by the community.
- Visual Branding: A clean, athletic, community-inspired aesthetic was created for campaign materials allowing for photos of residents and community members to stand out against the bright color gradients.
- Web Development: We designed a dedicated website to serve as the digital home for fundraising efforts, storytelling, and donation processing.
- Campaign Collateral: Print materials, email newsletters, social media assets, donor packets, and event branding were all developed to maintain a consistent voice and visual identity across channels.
- Launch Strategy: We supported a phased campaign launch strategy, starting with soft outreach to key donors and expanding to the broader public through community events, social media, and press coverage.
Impact:
Thanks to the clarity of message and the passion of community leaders, Project Three Thirty quickly gained traction, earning early commitments and setting a strong foundation for ongoing fundraising. Beyond raising funds, the project galvanized civic pride and re-ignited hope around what’s possible when a small town comes together.
