Nestled in the heart of historic Downtown Bowling Green on Fountain Square, this vibrant shop invites visitors to step into cheerful, sweet nostalgia. With handcrafted, small-batch ice creams, refreshing sorbets, homemade sodas, and scratch-made treats, Meltdown isn’t just about desserts—it’s about joy, connection, and the simple magic of a shared experience.

Oliver Creative partnered with Meltdown to craft a digital presence and visual identity that would carry their story forward. Through an engaging website, mouthwatering photo and video content, and a focus on the details that make Meltdown unique, we helped create a brand that feels as warm and inviting as their scoops. Together, we built more than a visual identity—we created a platform for memories, moments, and a legacy of joy that will outlast every cone.

The Challenge

Meltdown Ice Cream had one goal: to be the place where joy meets flavor. Their handcrafted, seasonal ice cream deserved a digital presence as vibrant as their menu—and content that made people stop mid-scroll to say, “I need that cone in my life.”

They came to us looking for more than just a website. They needed a way to capture the personality of their brand and connect with their community, both online and in person.

A Sweet Story

For Susan Warrell, ice cream is more than a dessert—it’s a love letter to her community. Her journey began in 2012 at the Community Farmers Market in Bowling Green, where she sold her photography. Inspired by the true-season flavors of Kentucky’s small-scale farmers, and fueled by sweltering summer days spent at the market, Susan decided to combine her creativity with her love of ice cream. She began churning batches with local dairy and the freshest produce, experimenting with flavors that told a story of place and season. What started as jars of ice cream shared with vendor friends quickly grew into something much bigger.

Encouraged by her family and community, Susan traded her camera for a self-cooling ice cream maker and dove headfirst into her “little ice cream adventure.” What began at the farmers market has since evolved into Meltdown Ice Cream & Soda Fountain, where Susan continues to celebrate local ingredients, handcrafted flavors, and the joy of sharing something truly special.

For Susan, every scoop carries a piece of her story—a story of creativity, community, and turning passion into something everyone can savor. We were ecstatic when Susan asked us to help carry her story forward.

Our Approach

We don’t just build websites or snap photos—we craft experiences. For Meltdown, that meant designing a site that felt playful and inviting while creating content that made their audience crave more (literally). Every element had to celebrate their bold flavors, their fun-loving spirit, and their deep connection to the people they serve.

Website Design

The website became Meltdown’s digital shopfront—colorful, fun, and packed with personality. We paired vibrant illustrations and bold images with clean layouts to make the site easy to use but impossible to forget. And since we know most ice cream cravings happen on the go, we built a mobile-friendly experience that makes finding their next flavor easy as pie (or in this case, ice cream).

Photo & Video Content Creation

We captured the heart of Meltdown through photography—ice cream dripping in the sunlight, hands passing cones, and the warm energy of the shop. These weren’t just product photos; they were moments. Video content gave us a way to show, not just tell. From behind-the-scenes clips of their team crafting flavors to feel-good customer moments, we created content that captured the magic happening at Meltdown every day.

Extending Their Brand

We leaned into their playful side with a color palette inspired by their ice cream—mint greens, soft peaches, and deep blues that felt nostalgic and fresh at the same time. The copy we created—both on the website and in their social captions—matched the energy of their team: fun, down-to-earth, and full of joy.

The Result

It’s about making people feel something—excitement, joy, connection—and then giving them a reason to act on it. For Meltdown, it wasn’t just about selling ice cream; it was about creating moments that mattered. With a website that works and content that clicks, Meltdown continues to serve more customers more scoops and stand as a community favorite.
